Abridge is noted for being one of the closest villages
to London in its idyllic semi rural riverside location,
the charm of its listed oldie worldie buildings that is
a throw back in time and indeed our legendary Summer Ball..
the jewel in our crown of our renowned Abridge Village
Weekend that always gets our fund raising festivities
off with a bang.
We are proud that this prestigious
occasion has set the benchmark for other summer balls
to follow. The old cliché “imitation is
the sincerest form of flattery” certainly applies
and is testament to the high standard set by our dedicated
hard working team of unpaid volunteers who have consistently
delivered a first class event since its inception in
1985.
Our Summer Ball has always enjoyed
a dedicated following, but we are conscious that many
new residents of Abridge, Lambourne End, Stapleford
Abbotts and surrounding areas have yet to experience
what the ball stands for both as the highlight of the
social calendar and as a charity fund raiser and thus
fill the dancing shoes of some of our loyal patrons
who either retired or moved away.
As you can see above, the ball has been running for 25 years this year and so we ask you to come and celebrate our 25th anniversary with us and help us make the evening a night to remember. |

team of people this year but always need more help before
